Course
Kid’s Dash
This is our favorite event! The kid’s dash is very informal so they do not need to register but it gives the kiddos an opportunity to run through the finish line like Mom and Dad. Depending on the numbers, we may have to break it down in to age groups for safety reasons.
Timing
We are happy to partner with Start 2 Finish to time the race.
Age divisions
Overall, Masters, 12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
Awards
5K: Top 3 Males and Females in all divisions will receive awards.
Claiming Awards
As results become available, runners will be able to claim their awards at the awards ceremony prior to the last participant finishing. We do NOT ship unclaimed awards.
NOTE: Sisu Events reserves the right to add/delete categories and awards prior to race based on participation.
Refunds and Transfers
Registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.
Weather Policy
Races are held, rain or shine, unless Sisu Events determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day by Sisu Events and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Sisu Events reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
Entertainment
We are so excited to have AAA Entertainment at the Start and Finish line to energize the runners and maintain the fun!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Training Plan
We've got training plans for you as you prepare for the Mother's Day 5K. Check out two different Mother's Day 5K Training Plans powered by Forward Motion.
Version 1
The version 1 plan is meant for the beginner runner who has never attempted to run or train for anything before. This is a plan meant for individuals who are just trying to have a healthier lifestyle and achieve their first 5K.
This plan is based off of individuals who could at this very moment can run a max of around 2:00 minutes or less.
Listed below is an 10 week guide to your first 5K, with the goal of running either 3 or 4 days per week, and having 1 additional day for some form of strength training. The plan will mainly consist of run/walk intervals. For example, if it says “4 x 1 run, 3 walk” that means you have 4 sets of 1 minute running at an easy pace, 3 minutes walking. The total time for that example would be 16 minutes.
Version 2
The version 2 plan is meant for the beginner runner who has never attempted to run or train for anything before. This is a plan meant for individuals who are just trying to have a healthier lifestyle and achieve their first 5K.
This plan is based off of individuals who could at this very moment can run a max of around 8:00 minutes or less.

“At Forward Motion, we want you to enjoy running. We want it be a form of freedom and accomplishment, not something you dread to do. We want running to fit into your lifestyle, not take over your life. And more than anything else, we want you to enjoy the process, not just the end result.”
*This plan was written by Adam Jones, Coach at Forward Motion, and Charlotte Marathon record holder.
